Another lapse

Can I just say this is not my week! I had finally put the fashion mishap out of mind and now this.

I'm at work, sorta busy, sorta not when I see I have a text message on my phone. I figured it was one of my children with some kind of request so I ignored it. Now that some time has gone by I read it and it says:

Granny is out of surgery and everything went fine.

This would be Chad's MOTHER and I forgot she was having surgery today.

Am I there? No.
Did I call her this week? No.

I call Chad and say, 'baby I forgot that your mom has surgery today', thinking he would be upset.

His reply, I know and I went to see her this weekend.

I think he is happy deep down that he was the good son and I was the daughter-in-law that forgot! Ugh!!

Guess I'll be making the trip to the hospital tonight. In my defense (???) it was a minor surgery and she changed the date. The good news is she is fine. The bad news she is never going to let me live this down!
