We needed a good laugh and some humble pie!

I was so excited to go and get our box of food from Angel Ministries. I must confess though that when we got the reminder email about picking it up, I just glanced at it. The main thing I noticed was that the pick-up time was at 9:30.

As we are driving Chad asked me "do you know for sure which church it is at?"

"Of course, Carrie said she could see it from her office."

We pull in to a church and rolled down our window and asked if this was where we picked up food. Now please notice what we asked. The lady said "yes, around back."

We pull back there and people are already in the parking lot. We get out and walk to the door and its locked. A very nice guy rolls his window down and says they won't open the door until 10.

Chad at this point is ASSUMING I had misread the email, so we proceed to wait. About 5 mins until 10 people are starting to line up. We are in line FREEZING, and the people are so nice. They tell us since it is our first time we will have to feel out a paper on our family.

The guy in front of us starts really talking to Chad and it's a bit weird, he is talking about different church's do this on different days. But I'm in my own world, freezing!

I am starting to notice that several of the families in line are looking very needy. In fact in my mind, I'm thinking maybe I need to give them our box.

As we enter the building they ask us if we have any prayer request. By now I'm getting that weird feeling in my stomach.

Sure enough I walk over to a lady in charge and I ask her if this is the Angel Food pick-up.

Nope we had just waited 30 mins to stand in line for a free meal, and sack of groceries! I thought Chad might kill me right there!

We did find the right spot on the other corner!

first I think, how aweful...then I think what an education. most of us are in the fortunate position that we don't have to wait in line for a meal, let alone in the freezing cold. sometimes God reminds us what it's like to walk in someones shoes by trying them on, even if just for 30 min.
